Stuck.....

The OutlawThe Outlaw

Well. I think I have reached that point that most people who love photography reach at some point.... I'm stuck.  I was on a roll for a while, but now I look at my own work and I realize that photos that I once loved are not as good as I thought they were.  I know that the only way to get better is to practice, but what do you shoot when you still have no idea WHAT to shoot?  I have tried people, landscapes, fine art, still life, animals.... and I have no idea what area I want to stick with.  I am not particularly good with people, so I know that portraits is out (my two little willing assistants aren't always so willing anymore), I don't live in a particularly scenic area, so landscape shooting is very limited, and after working 40 hours each week (sometimes more), most of the time I'm too tired.  I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining, but I'm sure most photographers reach this point at one time or another....

What do you do when you don't know what to do anymore??

Thanks, Morgan! I know you're right, inspiration will strike at the right time! I don't want to get too out of practice, but I definitely don't want to force it, either. This is supposed to be something that I do for fun. :) I hope the new season, and the new location will help.

I think it's different for everyone, and you will probably get different answers but I take a break and slowly it comes back to me. I start WANTING to shoot and find inspiration from random things again. It's your journey though and do what you feel is right! Xoxo
